Webster's Green Team recycling project

The Webster Green Team Cap and Lid Recycling Project is an “ABC Program.”

The “ABC Program” (A Bench for Caps) started in 2010 as a teaching tool for students learning to care for our earth. It is structured as a “partnership” between children and a company called Green Tree Plastics that recycles caps and lids collected by youth groups and molds the plastic into outdoor furniture.

The Webster Green Team is collecting plastic caps and lids to be recycled into a four-foot long park bench to be used in the Webster Teaching Garden. Ozaukee Master Gardner members are assisting.  We invite members of the community to pitch in.  “We need 250 pounds of plastic lids to create a bench.” said Stan Suring, Master Gardener Volunteer and a co-chair of the Cedarburg Webster School Garden project.

Acceptable/non- acceptable caps and lids..

The Webster Green Team recommends you start a container for your home lid/cap collection. Please make sure they are clean. More details will be released in January, including where and when to drop off your plastic tops.
