Lasata Care Center
Lasata is a Native American word meaning "place of peace".
This is the thought that drives OMG's work at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg, a rehab and extended stay center for patients whose injuries or illnesses that require nursing care. Hospice care is provided as well. The entry ways and restful seating areas are tended by more than a dozen of our master gardeners, who spend up to 1000 hours a year planting, weeding and watering.
Our volunteers also provide hands-on sessions for patients and their families, giving them comfort in the planting of vegetables in raised beds outside or in the greenhouse.
Ozaukee Master Gardeners have provided horticulture support for Lasata Care Center since 2007. We are glad to provide patients, families and staff a "place of peace".
