OBJECTIVE/MISSION:
  • Address food scarcity by creating access to fresh vegetables for residents who may otherwise lack gardening space in their personal residences.

  • Directly address health factors such as diabetes and obesity.

  • Preserve green space and respect environmental restrictions by using raised beds and best gardening practices of County Master Gardeners.

  • Improve positive intergenerational interactions by inviting many community partners of various ages to work together to build beds, educate gardeners, harvest crops, teach recipes, or manage the project.

  • Educate children/students about the environment and opportunities to gain experience growing food in livable spaces.
